Deputy Chief Guy Gilmore is a native of Dundee, Texas and joined the Wichita Falls Police Department in August, 1989. He graduated from the 45th Police Academy. Deputy Chief Gilmore promoted to Sgt. in March 2002. He promoted to Lt. in November 2006 and in December 2010 he promoted to Captain. In April 2013 Gilmore was appointed as Deputy Chief.
His previous assignments with The Wichita Falls Police Department have been Patrol; SWAT; Gang Unit; Tactical Unit; CIS; the Office of Professional Conduct, and Community Operations.
In addition, Deputy Chief Gilmore holds a Master Peace Officer certification through TCOLE. He graduated Holliday High School and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University. He is a graduate of the 237th FBI National Academy.
Deputy Chief Gilmore serves on the Board of Directors for Leadership Wichita Falls and is a member of the Mavericks of Wichita Falls.
Responsibilities
The Investigative Operations Division Deputy Chief is responsible for the Criminal Investigation Section (Crimes Against Persons, Crimes Against Property, Misdemeanor,
Juvenile,Financial/Cyber Crimes and the Crime Scene Unit), the Special Operations Section (Organized Crime/Highway Interdiction Unit, Tactical Unit, Gang Unit, SWAT Team), the WFPD Honor Guard, and SCUBA.
