CURBSIDE Organics

The City manages one of the most popular growing reuse programs across the country. The curbside organics green curb carts are available by calling 761-7977 for a monthly fee of only $3 per month. The green carts are collected every Wednesday except during the week of City holidays.

ACCEPTABLE ORGANIC MATERIAL


Grass clippings, tree trimmings, kitchen food, waste and paper products, such as, junk mail, cardboard, newspaper, paper plates and cups, chip board and magazines.

NOT ACCEPTABLE MATERIAL


Plastic bags, dirt, rocks, concrete, metal, coals, hot ash, Styrofoam, rubber, plastic, glass, aluminum cans, bottles, garden hoses, spray can, paint, solvents, flammable liquids or oil.

COMPOST GIVE-AWAY


This material is then turned into top-quality compost available to program participants twice a year FREE during the compost events held on the first Saturday in March and October.

Recycling Metal

Aluminum, copper, brass and steel are accepted at the City's Landfill. Items such as portable buildings, BBQ grills, metal chair frames, cans, wire, siding, etc. are accepted.		 

Recycling Appliances


Stoves, washers and dryers are accepted at the Transfer Station and Landfill.

Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are only accepted at the Landfill where a certified technician is able to remove the Freon.

The State of Texas operates the Texas Computer Equipment Recycling Program.
