As part of the Kemp-Monroe Drainage Project Phase II, a new underground drainage system is being installed. This will require the contractor to divert traffic to one side of Kemp Blvd between Ave H and Ave J. One lane of traffic Northbound and one lane of traffic Southbound will be open through the construction area. The diversion of traffic on Kemp Blvd will begin Monday, September 30th and last for two months, weather permitting. Please drive slowly and use caution when traveling in this area.

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District is offering a Quit Tobacco course starting on October 15, 2019. The classes will be held from noon - 1:00 pm and 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Each participant must attend all four classes to complete the course.

Bring your dressed-up pet by Animal Services on Hatton Road. Trick or Treat with your pet. Show them your best trick and your pet will get a treat! They will take pictures and post them on their Facebook page and let the community vote for the best costume. Winners will be announced on November 1st.

Joe Rogers is a retired public-school teacher and is currently teaching History and Archeology at West Texas A&M. He found Archaeology as a serious avocational interest in 2000 while attending a summer field school for the Texas Archaeological Society in Marfa, TX. Joe will discuss several archaeological operations around Texas and examine sites of prehistoric Native cultures from Paleo past to pre-European contact, as well as recent archaeological efforts.
