    Children age 5 and up are invited to join WFPL staff in the activity room for fun arts and crafts. The focus will be on the creation of the art rather than the end product. Children will be encouraged to use their imaginations, flex their creativity, and experiment with the materials. Even though this is for older children, library staff will have age-appropriate activities for your toddlers to do with their parents while their siblings create.

  4. Wichita Falls Parks & Recreation: Canine Courses Session 4

    August 20, 2018, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Obedience Training Club

    The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-Step CGC test will receive a copy of the test which may be submitted to the American Kennel Club, with appropriate fees, for an official CGC certificate. Handlers will learn a variety of training skills to help build a better relationship with their dog. Skill include: Walking on a loose leash, teaching the dog to sit, down, and stay when asked. The handler will be shown humane ways to redirect unwanted behavior in their dogs.

    The Kell House Museum invites you to take an active role in History! Help bring the past to life as a Kell House Docent! Share the amazing history of this community and its leaders with visitors from both our local area and around the world. The Kell House is offering a free training class for those interested in guided tours of the Museum. The two-part class will take place in August. Participants will learn about the history of Wichita Falls and the role the Kell family played in its growth, as well as the architecture and antiques of the Kell House.

    Morath Orchard from Charlie will bring the Farmer's Market to Hospice of Wichita Falls front parking lot every other Friday from 7:30 am - 9:30 am, beginning May 25th. It is open to the public, so stop by and pick up some beautiful fresh fruits, vegetables and honey and help the volunteer department of Hospice at the same time. Morath Orchard graciously donates a percentage of their sales to HOWF. Thank you Morath Orchard!!!

  9. Back to School Immunization Extended Clinic Hours

    The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District is once again gearing up for Back to School immunization rush. In addition to regularly scheduled clinic hours, the Immunization Clinic is offering extended hours. The immunization clinic offers services on a walk-in basis, with no appointment needed. Everyone is encouraged to come in as soon as possible to avoid a long wait time. A current shot record is required in order to receive immunizations.

  10. Travel Center Schedule for HHH Bike Race

    Due to the closure of key downtown streets for HHH Bike Race, the Travel Center will be closing at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 24th. All Greyhound routes will resume as normal on Monday, August 27th, at the Clarence Muehlberger Center. The City's public transportation, Falls Ride, will relocate transfers from Travel Center to 5th Street at Midtown Manor.
