FAMILIES LOOKING FOR HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER ASSISTANCE (SECTION 8):

Watch out for scams! Reportedly, there are internet sites claiming to be application sites for voucher assistance. These websites are taking fees and personal information from people and claiming to put them on waiting lists. These websites are bogus! The only way you can apply for voucher assistance is directly though a local housing authority.

Responsibilities

The City of Wichita Falls Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly Section 8) has programs for low-income households to help them pay their rent. A portion of the rent is paid directly to the landlord on behalf of the families.
