Tuesday November, 2017 the Code Enforcement Division executed hazardous structure search warrants on 10 properties in Wichita Falls.
Thursday September 28, 2017 Code Enforcement responded to a report of a wall collapse downtown in the 600 block of 7th St. It appears that due to the recent rainfall the already damaged wooden roof structure became saturated, resulting in the overloading of the west wall of the building which was already in a deteriorated state. The wall unable to bear the additional load partially collapsed sometime Wednesday night to early Thursday morning. No injuries or other property appeared to be damaged during the collapse.
Wednesday June 7, 2017 and Thursday June 8, 2017 officers from The Code Enforcement Division executed search warrants on 16 vacant hazardous structures in Wichita Falls. This is the first step in an approximately year long process to having a dangerous building demolished.
Beginning April 21, 2017 citizens are now able to view currently active and recently closed code enforcement cases or make a new complaint for properties in Wichita Falls by going to the Code Enforcement webpage on the City of Wichita Falls website and clicking on the "Make a Request / Complaint" link in the navigation menu.
Animal Services Seizure
On October 19, 2016 Officers from the Code Enforcement Division along with the Environmental Health Division assisted Animal Services execute a seizure warrant at a home in the 4100 Block of Wrangler Dr. There were a total of 324 animals removed from the home. Code Enforcement also issued notices for violations of the City's Rubbish, Trash and Unsanitary matter Ordinance, Outdoor Storage Ordinance and Zoning Ordinance related to Illegal Home Occupations.
